Bye Bye Lolo

Friday, May 2, 2008

The silence on my blog was because of two things:

1. My internet connection was down for more than a week. And this is from someone who have both DSL and cable connections!!! Yes, both were down. We're just lucky the cable is up and running again. But the DSL modem seems to be dead. I have to call PLDT for that.

2. My lolo Dorit passed away early monday morning. We don't have any family here with us in the Philippines so we were in a frenzy getting everything ready and entertaining friends and other relatives during the wake. It was nice of my bosses to let me go on leave today and also half days for the past three days. My lola and one of my mom's sisters did get to go home. It was emotionally and physically tiring, but it's over. My lolo is in happy place. Void of pain and suffering. Sigh, but I do miss him already.

Now, I'm back online. Gosh, I'm updating myself with all the chismis and stuff!!!

Think Of Me: David Archuleta

Wednesday, April 23, 2008

Now... from my favorite...

Andrew Lloyd Weber was their mentor on this episode. I do love his broadway songs most specially those from Les Mis.

This is a nice version of Think Of Me from Phantom of the Opera.

You'll Always Be My Baby: David Cook

This is actually my ultimate favorite among Mariah's song. I was pleasantly surprised that he chose it.

He wasn't among my faves but after the Billy Jean performance he's on my list now.

I'm still a David Archuleta fan.

MAKE YOUR OWN IS BACK!!!

Monday, April 21, 2008

On May 2-4, 2008 I will lining up again at the Powerplant Mall for the MAKE YOUR OWN HAVAIANAS Event. I remember last year, I rushed to Powerplant just to catch what was left of it. So sad that I didn't have that much choices left.

I'm hoping I'll do better this year. I'm planning my strategy already.

So, to my fellow Havies addict, I'll see you at the event... may the best addict win!!!

Buckle Up!

Monday, April 7, 2008

I guess 'tis the season to make babies coz three of my friends are pregnant right now. Other friends are also trying to have one. I have to admit, even my husband and I are trying too. Teehee...

Well, anyway, even pregnant, I'll still probably try to be as fashionable as possible. Thank God maternity clothes have really improved over the years. Gone are the tent dresses that just make mommies-to-be even more frumpy!

Recently I've discovered this little contraption while watching Fashion Police on the Lifestyle channel that will keep the mommies on wearing their favorite jeans well beyond their pregnancy.

Hello to B-Buckle!!!

B-Buckle is sort of a strap that will help accommodate your expanding tummy. How? Just zip up your jeans as much as you can and keep it unbuttoned. Using the B-Buckle, loop it on the first belt loops on the left and on the right and just snap it into place! It's really a marvel! A video of how to use it can be seen on the website.

There's several designs to choose from... look at my favorites below...

best seller is this "LOVE" B-Buckle

More fun and quirky designs on their site. There's also plain ones too. I've tried looking for a store selling this but I think they sell it only online right now. It retails for $22. Hmmm... not bad! After all, you won't be using this only once right?!

A great invention for those ladies who have really invested on expensive jeans. I'm guilty of that! It's also a great baby shower gift for your girlfriends.

I'm not even pregnant yet but I already told my mom to get me this when she travels to the US. I'm thinking the money I can save on extra pants can be put to good use for my baby... maybe a Juicy diaper bag? Kate Spade? Hmmm... I think that's another post altogether!

Cold Rock rocks!

Sunday, March 30, 2008

Cold Rock from Australia is ice cream and mix ins smashed together on top of a slab of ice cold rock... or sort of marble. The fun is in customizing your dessert. With lots of ice cream flavors and add ons to choose from, there are thousands of ways to make your own yummy cup of ice cream!

My husband and I tried this before at Crowne Plaza during our wedding taste test at their buffet. It was part of their dessert buffet menu. This afternoon my husband brought me to Cold Rock at Greenbelt 3 after driving my mom to the office and after we did some shopping.

The steps to make your own mix is as follows:

1. Choose the cone or cup.
2. Choose the ice cream. You can choose more than one.
3. Choose the add ons... there's more than a dozen there to satisfy your every craving!.
4. Then watch them smash it up all together
5. Gobble it all up!!!

Tini chose Tiramisu and Coffee ice cream. He added cookie dough, choco fudge brownie and Reese's. I chose the Banana Cream Pie ice cream and added strawberry and choco fudge brownie for a banana split effect.

This is Tini's ice cream

finished products!!!

I'm totally going to get fat! Tini and I are such gluttons!

Cold Rock can be found also in Trinoma and the Fort.

I'm sooooo gonna regret this tomorrow...err, later...

My dad is leaving for Canada tomorrow... well, later. He's attending the wedding of the son of a very good family friend. They were even our Ninong and Ninang on our wedding.

I promised them a cd of the wedding pictures.

Since I've been procrastinating forever to do the wedding photos I had to do everything tonight last minute. We had to send three more cd's to other relatives while my dad was there.

I'm soooooo sleepy! I even had technical problems with my laptop and even my husband's.

He's off snoring to neverland... I felt bad. I let him sleep early coz he has an early day tomorrow... I mean later.

Off to bed.

I promise to finish sorting out the photos by this weekend so I can give them to our photographer already. I wanna beat my two friends who are also tooooooo lazy to start on their albums.

You know who you are... don't deny it! Hahaha! Contest tayo!
