It's that time of the year again when Havaianaticos troop to Rockwell for the Make Your Own Havaianas event.

With new styles and pins to mix and match!

Summer won't be the same without MYOH!

My MYOH 2011 Pairs

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

Yesterday I went to MYOH event exclusive for HavLove members. I took advantage of the invite to avoid chaos and long lines I always experience at any MYOH event.

I took my time deciding what sole to pair with what strap and also what pin to put.

Instead of the wheel, there soles are now lined up under a glass box with a crank you turn, while the straps are on top to mix and match.

Exclusive sole for MYOH 2011 Estampa. This one is for Tops.

This one is for Slim

Here's some of the pins... nice they have lots of Pinoy-themed ones.

The pressure of creating your own perfect pair!

My two pairs... since I couldn't decide...

I ended up buying both Estampas design. The slim had the Harajuku Doll (every pin sold, P100 is donated to the Japan earthquake thru Red Cross) while the tops had the metal barcode with MNL on it. My Havies are simple and no fuss. I want my pairs to match MOST of my clothes.

And notice I only got two pairs?! After the event I texted my husband I was on my way home. He asked me, "Nakarami ka?" (Did you get a lot?). I texted back, "Define marami?! Nah, just got two pairs". I was surprised he just texted back "OK".

The MYOH 2011 officially opens to the public today until May 16.

See You There! MYOH 2011

MYOH 2009

Friday, May 22, 2009

I was beginning to think they won't have a Make Your Own Havaianas event this year. Until I saw the billboard near Rockwell a couple of weeks ago. I waited for the newsletter. It finally arrived last today.

This year's MYOH will start on May 28 and end on June 1. Visit the Rockwell Tent during mall hours. I bet there'll be a line as early as 7am!!!

Visit their site and play mix-and-match with the straps and soles and put lifestyle pins, culture pins and swarovskis to practice for the event. Like the one I did below...

The frenzy called MYOH

Saturday, May 3, 2008

Last year I went on the last day. As in the extended one day. I wasn't satisfied with my choices because most of the colors and studs were out of stock already. I had to settle with what was left.

This year I made sure I went at least on the second day. I left the home at 9am and I thought it was good enough. I was wrong... I was about a hundred people down and yet it wasn't that bad. It was still a good move for me.

This year they did it at the Rockwell tent and they had friends who gave away free drinks and snacks... although I wish they gave it at the start and not after we paid. I was tired and hungry waiting in line.

This year they had items for kids and slims. Although I was a bit disappointed tops have limited colors.

Patrick did both of my pairs

Slim, black sole with red straps. Embellished with letters spelling out my husband and my name

Slim, light rose sole with golden sun straps. Embellished w/stars and pink swarovski studs.

I promised myself I won't buy Havies anymore. I will just wait for MYOH to get my pairs.

MYOH extended til Monday, May 5.
