All Gossip Girl fans can now channel their inner Blair Waldorf by dressing up like her… or dress like any of the girls from Upper Eastside…

"Miss Selfridge, the high-street fashion chain owned by the Arcadia Group, is partnering with Warner Bros to launch a collection inspired by its US TV series Gossip Girl.

The range of eight dresses is based on the styles of the four female characters in the show, Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) and Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr) and the designs of Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman.

Gossip Girl costume designer Daman will host a video series discussing the characters’ style and giving fans advice on how to create Gossip Girl–inspired outfits from the Miss Selfridge collection." (article from http://www.mad.com.uk/)

The collection will be available in store and online by end of April 2010. My personality is leaning to Blair, of course. I love the bitch with a soft side.

The deigner on the show have really defined the girls' fashion sense: Blair seems to exude the fashionable “IT” girl; Serena for me is vampy-sexy; Jenny is edgy and funky; Vanessa is so bohemian. I'm curious how these personalities will come out in the collection.

Too bad there's no Miss Selfridge here in the Philippines but thankfully it's available online.

Gossip Girl now in the Phil

I was worried, with the writers strike and all, that this show wouldn't reach our shores anymore. But thanks to ETC, we can all be part of the world of the privileged teens of the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Welcome the Gossip Girl!

For me, the show is like The OC meets Cruel Intentions. Typical teen angst with occasional teenage sex and cat fights between BFFs. But who cares, it's fun to watch and very addictive. I almost bought the pirated dvd of this one ever since I heard about this show months ago. But the strike came and I sort of waited till more episodes came out before I'd buy the series. I guess now I don't have to.

The show revolves around the lives of Serena and Blair, best friends who had to face some tough realities about their friendship and their lives. Other personalities that will add color and drama are Nate (Blair's boyfriend), Chuck (the typical bad boy), Dan (the not-so-rich kid) and Jenny (Dan's younger sister). Then there's Gossip Girl, the mysterious but omniscient non-visible character who knows everything about everyone.

Love the plot, love the fashion and love Manhattan. Just some reasons why I run home every Tuesday night. Wednesdays and Thursdays are for American Idol, of course.
