Healthy (?) Chicharon

Thursday, April 30, 2009

Now, this is all the rage at work. Marty's Cracklin' A supposed healthy snack. Vegetarian chicharon from Oishi. We love the salt and vinegar flavor. The original one is sort of tasteless. Other than being vegetarian, it's supposed to have 0% trans fat and zero cholesterol.

Although I think I'll get an MSG overload with this one.

I can't stop eating this. It's super addictive.

It's my first Mom's Day

I can now officially demand a gift on Mother's Day. Yey! But we now have a little one with an insatiable hunger, most of our shopping money goes to him now. And I know that even if he's a boy with limited fashion choices, I will still end up shopping for him. If mom is a fashionista, baby boy has to be too! Well, since May is mom's month, I'm so happy Powerplant has lots of activities for moms like me! I'm so looking forward to these bazaars!

I'm hoping to see my favorite Multiply sellers of baby stuff at the bazaar and looking forward to the various activities during the Expo Mom. Our birthing class instructor reminded us about it.

On Mother's Day, I'll definitely spend it with my family. I told them we'll have dinner instead of lunch because I'll be meeting up with Papa Piolo and John Lloyd at ASAP '09!!! Hahaha!

We want YOUR shoes!!!

I've been trying to get the post-pregnancy weight off for a couple of months now. It's been a struggle to find time between work and spending time with my baby. But I wanna look hot on his first birthday so I'm trying to psyche myself. I also promised myself I would join at least one marathon this year. I haven't started running though, because I found out my old rubber shoes is not fit for exercise anymore. I need new ones! Okay, so maybe I'm just looking for an excuse to buy a new pair... But Adidas gave me a sign that this is the best time to grab a pair!

Adidas wants our old shoes! Bring an old pair to any Adidas shop and in exchange they'll take as much as P1,000 off your next purchase of any Adidas shoes. Here's the mechanics:

1. Bring in your old sport shoes of any brand to receive:
a. P500 OFF your new purchase worth P1,500-P2,999
b. P1,000 OFF your new purchase worth P3,000 and up
2. Each discount value is applicable for only one pair of shoes purchased. Bring in as many old pairs to get discounts on as many new shoes!
3. Only accepts 'sports shoes' of ANY BRAND (no sandals, high heels, flats, leather, or infant shoes). Old sport shoes have to be in decent condition and still functional.
4. All old shoes will be donated to Pamulaan Center for Indigenous People Foundation.
5. Promo Period runs from May 1-17, 2009

This would be a great opportunity to clean up our shoe closet, start getting fit, get a discount shopping AND most of all, help others.

The Pamulaan Center for Indigenous People Foundation aims to develop, preserve and share the rich culture of our indigenous brothers and sisters. The word Pamulaan is a lumad-Matigsalog word for seedbed.

Give me a piece of that!!!

Oh my! Oh my! I'm an Edward fan but look at them?!!!! How can you not fall in love?!!!!

MEET THE WOLF PACK: Birth and Brawn combined

That gives them a great excuse to doff their shirts on-screen and expose the physiques they've been pumping up for playing werewolves in The Twilight Saga:New Moon, the sequel to last year's supernatural sensation, due Nov. 20.

Four actors — Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier, all with Native American heritage — join Taylor Lautner, 17, who returns as a hairier, scarier Jacob Black. The plotline finds Jacob growing closer to a distraught Bella (Kristen Stewart) after her vampire beau, Edward, runs off.

Among wolf pack job requirements: the ability to work half-naked no matter what the weather in the Vancouver, B.C., area, where the film has been shooting for several weeks.

“It’s not pleasant for the actors,” says director Chris Weitz. “But they have all been good-natured. They show up on location in drenching, cold rain, and I say, ‘OK, off with the robes.’ ”

Cheap and Cheerful Bench

Friday, April 17, 2009

I really don't shop at Bench because I always associate it to menswear. But I was going around Glorietta 5 yesterday while waiting for some friends and ended up shopping a little. I was surprised that there were a lot of stuff there that I really like.d Plus, their pretty cheap too! I started taking pics of some items with my phone...

yellow patent leather bag for P350

yellow patent messenger bag for P360

i wanted this for my baby but still big for him. Fron their Btweeners line

finally got an iamNinoy shirt (P350). I also got pants for just P800!

should've gotten this scarf to match the shirt (P250)!

I wanted this one but out of stock already...

I even saw yellow shades! But had to stop myself from taking pics... the saleslady was giving me the look already. Bench now reminds me of Old Navy... don't you think?!

You're probably wondering what the fascination for all things yellow? My friend W told me that one of the lucky colors this year for those born under the year of the horse is yellow. I should get more then...

Pick a PIC-A

Thursday, April 2, 2009

Ahhh... Thank you URC for inventing this bag of temptation.

Why didn't I think of this one?! It's so elementary! Don't we buy several bags of chips and put them together during parties??? Why not mix 'em in one bag??? Three times the goodies, right?!

I saw this a year ago in Macro and forgot about it. I discovered it again a few weeks ago when my husband bought one. We ate the whole bag on our way home from work.

Now I'm soooo addicted to it! It's now part of my weekly groceries. I eat this with a 1.5L of Coke. Baaad! There's a barbecue flavor too but lovin' the cheese more.

Oh, Jack and Jill... I love you!

This is no April Fool's joke. My kuya Jong has a coffee table book of his photos entitled "Carving Darkness". What started out as a hobby has become his passion. Congrats Kuya!

Published by Blurb, it's available on sale online.

I don't know exactly how to order yet but you can check his photo blog for more details.

... okay, fine! He's not my Kuya... but a lot of people think he is! Hahaha!
