Cracked!

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

The only guilty pleasure I can really have without leaving our house is getting a manipedi and foot spa. The home service massage we use also does manipedi and foot spa. So every two weeks or so, I call them for some pampering.

Today, the technician they sent offered nail art. I'm not so into nail art but I saw she had the crack nail polish! I've been looking for the Etude House Crack Nail Polish but it's always out of stock. I couldn't figure out the brand the girl used on me... part of the label peeled off already. But it was not Etude House. She had pink, blue and purple. I decided to try blue.

I hear Tony Moly has Snake Nail Polish that gives the same effect. But it's almost double the price of Etude House. By the way, my toes are painted black. I think crack nail polish on my toes is too much already.

I told the girl after two weeks I wanna try the pink one.

OSCARS Red Carpet

Sunday, February 26, 2012

While I opted to not post my red carpet loves on Golden Globes, Grammy's and SAG, I couldn't do that with the Oscars.

Here's my list of outfits I love...

Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen. A touch of goth elegance...

Viola Davis in Vera Wang. I'm so into green lately. Love it!

Rooney Mara in Givenchy. White! And good job on the minimal accessory.

Michelle Williams in coral Louis Vuitton. She has the body and the look to pull the peplum style off.

Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji. On the fence with this one. She loves this silhouette. I've seen here in this style most of the award season.

Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli. I love the style, easy to wear. Maybe not red carpet level but love it.

Guiliana Rancic in Tony Ward gown. Had a Swan Lake feel with the sleeves and feathered-like train.

More white/off white trend. Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford. Love the cape! So old Hollywood.

Milla Jovovich in Elie Saab. Another white gown on the red carpet.

I guess that's it for now. Oh, hope you catch the most memorable moment on the red carpet! Sasha Baron Cohen in Dictator character spilled ashes on Ryan Seacrest while doing the interview! Hilarious! But for the metrosexual Ryan, I didn't think he was laughing with the rest of us!

Off to watch the show!

Kim Kardashian Look by Eman

Saturday, February 25, 2012

I have so much time in my hands I sometimes watch make up videos and try to do it on myself. I know, I have nowhere to go and after a few minutes of finishing it, I end up wiping everything off anyway. But I just miss putting on make up and dressing up!

I've mentioned before that I have a favorite make up artist/beauty blogger I subscribe to... Eman from Canada.

Recently she did a look inspired by Kim Kardashian.

(video taken from Eman's YouTube site)

Super love it! Will try it soon during one of my bored moments and try to post it here. I don't have ALL the make up she used on her site. I just use whatever I have that's closest to complete the look.

Gosh, really wish I could go study and be a professional make up artist too!

Unofficially Yours

...is funny. Until the role of Patrick Garcia came out. And then the ending looked rushed and contrived. But still a fun movie to watch.

Appreciate exploring the concept of one-night-stand. Story are not so pa-sweet anymore. Enjoyed supporting roles of K Brosas and Panying that added the right amount of comic relief.

I watched it with my husband. He did enjoy it too... why not, Angel Locsin was so hot.

Just you wait Hudson!

Yes, just you wait! Once I give birth and can start wearing shoes with more height I'll be grabbing a pair of Hudson from Anthology. I'm such a fan of Anthology because of their comfort and style.

Grey

Khaki

Midnight Blue

Hudson is available in these three colors. I think I'm leaning towards the gray one.

R.I.P. Whitney Houston (Aug. 9, 1963 - Feb.11, 2012)

Sunday, February 12, 2012

When I was a kid and I'm forced to a sing for family and relatives, I always sing "The Greatest Love of All". It's like the national anthem of my generation when I was young. Talent shows and contests always had someone singing this.

Yesterday, while at the barbers with my boys I hear the news of Whitney Houston's death. They say it's caused by bad combination of drugs, alcohol and falling asleep in a tub.

Tragic.

This year, her new movie, Sparkle, is coming out. After 10 years she's back on the big screen. I hear Sony Pictures is releasing it earlier than scheduled.

Christian Louboutin celebrates 20 years of shoes, shoes, shoes!

Legendary shoe designer Christian Louboutin has just launched a capsule collection to celebrate 20 years of his iconic footwear. After a lavish party at New York's prestigious Bergdorf Goodman store this weekend where everything from the cake to the balloons was red, the king of heels unveiled the new range, which includes some truly remarkable pieces: we love the use of perspex in thecute peep-toe heels above, and there are some beautiful sketches doing the rounds, too.
It's hard to believe that the Louboutin label, which always feels so "current", has actually survived 20 years in the fashion biz, but it really has been that long since the Parisian design genius first had the idea of painting red nail polish on the soles of his shoes. It's taken a lot more than that splash of scarlet to secure Louboutin's central position in the world of shoes, however, and this 26-piece collection really demonstrates the incredible skill and flair for show-stopping style that marks him out as a deserved footwear hero.
