For my fellow Eagles I just had to bring you this bit of news! My mom has been organizing events for PAGCOR (Philippine Gaming Commission). Although she's not organizing this specific event, she's excited about it. PAGCOR will be holding a Texas Hold'Em Poker Challenge strictly for Ateneo and La Salle! I don't have the details yet but anybody from those schools can join. They couldn't tag it as Ateneo vs. La Salle probably because the schools didn't want to be associated with any gambling event. Thus, it's simply called BLUE VS GREEN.
To all interested, watch out for the details. I don't know if I'm joining coz I'm not too confident yet playing with "older" people. And the buy-in will probably be bigger than I could afford.
Shuffle up and deal!!!
**********
Sorry guys... apparently it's by invitation only. Shucks!

I heard this song while watching the last episode of the second season of The O.C. It's a beautiful song.
Gives me a feeling of wonderment... like I'm floating. It's a totally different experience.
Thus, I share to you one of my favorite songs by Imogen Heap.
Where are we? What the hell is going on?
The dust has only just begun to fall,
Crop circles in the carpet, sinking, feeling.
Spin me round again and rub my eyes.
This can't be happening.
When busy streets a mess with people
would stop to hold their heads heavy.
Hide and seek.
Trains and sewing machines.
All those years they were here first.
Oily marks appear on walls
Where pleasure moments hung before.
The takeover, the sweeping insensitivity of this still life.
Hide and seek.
Trains and sewing machines. (Oh, you won't catch me around here)
Blood and tears,
They were here first.
Mmm, what you say?
Mm, that you only meant well? Well, of course you did.
Mmm, what you say?
Mm, that it's all for the best? Ah off course it is.
Mmm, what you say?
Mm, that it’s just what we need?
And you decided this.
Mmm what you say?
What did she say?
Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth.
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut-outs.
Speak no feeling, no I dont believe you.
You don't care a bit. You don't care a bit.
Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth.
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut-outs.
Speak no feeling, no I don't believe you.
You don't care a bit.
You don't care a bit.
You don't care a bit.
You don't care a bit.
You don't care a bit.
You don't care a bit.
You don't care a bit.
I can eat Smores now.
I think I can have Pho Hoa soon too.
I can listen to Kai songs without holding my breathe.

Kabloom!
My poor car.
Left side mirror flew forward.
She's wounded (cars are supposed to be girls right?!) .
Got raped by a ten-wheeler truck.
Enjoyed watching my mother torment and threaten the driver and the owner of the truck after they gave us a hard time. They wouldn't talk to us. All we wanted was a police report for the insurance. They kept on insisting it was my fault. It wasn't!!! The pictures will prove that. Thank God for digi-cam.
Now I have to buy a new side mirror. The big scratch on the fender will have to wait.
Damn truck drivers! Hate them!
Love driving the Camry though. It's my car for the meantime.

Hay salamat! Tapos na! All the hoopala during holidays can really stress me out. I mean, between parties with all my friends (parties with high school classmates, college friends, orgmates, mba friends, and other friends...) and trying to adjust in my new job, I need another holiday.
I don't really know how to greet the new year. Partly with anticipation but mostly with trepidation. After all I've actually experienced, and not just realized, that life is really full of surprises. That things don't happen the way you've planned them. So, what do I expect this 2006? More surprises for sure. But I'm taking it one day at a time. Enough of planning too far ahead (like getting married and having children). Maybe just take it as far as next friday's dinner date. I'll only get frustrated and try to tear my hair out again. I have to admit though that I still feel restless sometimes. The bug that makes me yearn to pack up my things and see the world still stings once in awhile but I think I have better control of it now. So far there's no need to run away and hide anymore.
Well... let me say happy new year to all... Reset. Restart. Make the most out of it.

Survived my first week at work! Not bad huh?! All though occupational hazard includes dancing "Pinoy Ako"... PBB theme song... in Christmas parties for like ten million times already! I'm a newbie... can't really say no. Darn it!
Big boss is great. Really hands on with everything and very approachable. I haven't really sat down with my immediate boss yet coz he's on leave. I have to reserve judgement how nice he is. Rest of the office is typical corporate life... snobs and perky friendly ones scattered all over. Although the distance is just too much I'm so tired by the time I get home and I need to wake up extra early not to be late. And I need to find people to work with. I don't have a team yet.
Blah... blah... blah... let's not forget it's Christmas and although I'm in a Grinch-y mood... Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year! Last night awesome Christmas party with the 4J girls and boys. Hooray for all those who prepared food! Salute to the Pesto cook! Love it! And to the Spanish Sardines pasta maker too! Yummy. Pesto cook also made a scrumptious Strawberry Pie. Hmmm...
Ho-ho-ho everybody!

On friday I officially become an employee of this local semi-government bank. Although they asked me to come in on thursday for briefing and some HR stuff. The past week I've been busy going around the Metro getting all my pre-employment docs ready. Been to QC for NBI clearance and today I went all the way to SM Southmall for my medical. Which by the way is the hatest thing I have to do when starting a job. No, not afraid of them getting my blood. It's the peeing and shitting in cups for the lab tests. Eeooow! I'm almost done. Just need to get something from my previous employer... and of course get a facial, manicure and pedicure! Gotta be hot on my first day!
Thing is I'm really excited to get my first pay check. But since I'm moving out of the house I'm thinking of spending it "wisely". Like buying something for my new place. An armoire or sofa. Or should I spend it on a pair of skinny jeans I've been eyeing lately?! Hmmm... my old roommate mentioned someone selling really nice True Religion jeans.
Isn't this what they call... "counting your eggs before they hatch"?
So many things to buy... so little money... so little time.

How to wear skinny jeans...
